Bellway has begun work on a new development of 88 high‑quality homes in Manchester city centre.
The seven‑acre site on Pitsford Road, formerly a railway siding, is currently undergoing remediation and site preparation. Bellway has full planning permission to build a range of three‑ and four‑bedroom mews, semi‑detached and detached homes on the north‑eastern edge of the city centre.
Meeting growing demand for new homes in the city centre, the development will be known as Skyline due to its impressive views across Manchester and boasts a bespoke range of specially designed urban-inspired house types with a metropolitan aesthetic.
As with all homes from Bellway, properties will be built to the highest construction standards with thoughtfully designed, flexible interiors and a superb specification for modern living. Each home will also benefit from a private garden, allocated car parking space and electric vehicle charging point.
“We are delighted to be on site with our new development, Skyline. Meeting the needs of a diverse range of homebuyers including first-time buyers, young professionals, families and those looking for a good location for an easy commute across the wider North West, Skyline offers the chance to purchase a beautiful new home within walking distance of the city centre and within easy reach of Manchester’s best loved shops, bars, restaurants and green spaces.”
Sales Director at Bellway, Grace Yarlett
Developed in close association with Manchester City Council, the properties at Skyline incorporate enhanced design characteristics and high end materials including deeper window reveals, aluminium window frames, PV panels and protruding brick details ensuring they set new standards for residential development in this rapidly developing regeneration area.
Within the planning agreement, Bellway will make a series of Section 106 contributions towards the further regeneration and development of the local area including a 20 per cent affordable housing contribution and £440,000 biodiversity net gain contribution.
The first properties have been released for sale with a starting price of £364,995, show homes are expected in the summer and the first legal completions shortly thereafter. Interested buyers may wish to note that Bellway is holding a launch event this Saturday 10 January from its Hopwood Meadows development in Heywood, Greater Manchester.
The development was designed by architects APD and Calder Peel with Steven Plummer, Gateley Nottingham advising on legals.
