- Easter gifts donated to families supported by Home-Start Manchester
- Includes eggs, books, and creative activities for young children
- Focus on supporting families facing financial and social challenges
- Follows similar community support effort during Christmas period
Families across Manchester have received a boost ahead of Easter following the delivery of seasonal gifts to children supported by Home-Start Manchester.
The charity, which provides volunteer-led practical and emotional support to families with at least one child under five, distributed a range of donated items including Easter eggs, books, and arts and crafts materials. The gifts were delivered to the Woodville Resource Centre in Cheetham and are intended to help children enjoy the holiday period.
The initiative builds on similar support provided during the Christmas season, when gifts were also donated to families through the organisation.
The donation effort, supported by staff from childcare provider Partou, saw more than 30 Easter gifts collected and passed on to local families.
Home-Start Manchester works with families experiencing a range of challenges, including financial hardship and social isolation. For many, occasions such as Easter can place additional pressure on already stretched household budgets, particularly where young children are involved.
Shelley Roberts, Chief Executive of Home-Start Manchester, said the donations would make a meaningful difference to the families supported by the charity. She noted that children living in poverty can often miss out on seasonal celebrations, and that simple gestures can help them feel included and valued.
The items will now be distributed directly to households supported by the charity in time for Easter, helping to ensure children can take part in what is often a significant moment in the calendar.
The partnership reflects ongoing collaboration with Home-Start Manchester, with a shared focus on supporting early childhood wellbeing and helping families navigate challenging circumstances.
