When Kavita Basi survived a life-threatening brain haemorrhage in 2015, her world and her priorities changed completely. After a successful career in the fast-paced world of fashion retail, Kavita’s recovery inspired her to reimagine what purpose, sustainability, and conscious consumerism could look like.
That journey led to the launch of RATION.L – a Manchester-based, family-run brand designing gender-neutral, sustainable trainers and accessories that are made to last. The brand is now a certified B Corp and proud supporter of the Brain & Spine Foundation, donating 5% of profits to the charity that helped her through her recovery.
This summer, RATION.L is inviting the community to experience their mission up close at their “Padel With Purpose” event in collaboration with Pure Padel Manchester.
Taking place on Saturday 5th July, the event blends sport, sustainability and style – with a live padel tournament, exclusive merch drop, local vendors, DJ sets, and more. It also marks the launch of RATION.L’s latest innovation: a trainer made using recycled tennis balls, showcasing how creativity and conscious design can go hand-in-hand.
More than just a product launch, the event celebrates Manchester’s vibrant community and shared commitment to doing things differently – proving that fashion can have both style and soul.
