Organised by the Psoriasis Association, the one-day event will take place on Saturday 20 June at Convene (etc Venues) Manchester. The conference promises an “optimistic and forward-thinking” programme focused on tackling the key challenges facing the psoriasis community today.
Speakers from UK universities, global research institutions and the patient community will share the latest developments in treatment, research and patient support. The event is open to everyone with an interest in psoriasis, including people living with the condition, healthcare professionals, academics and dermatology specialists.
Psoriasis affects around one in 50 people in the UK and has been in the national spotlight in recent months, with researchers exploring innovative new approaches – from using artificial intelligence to analyse genetic data to studying the potential impact of GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro.
Public awareness of the condition has also grown following a candid discussion by actor Adam Thomas during his appearance on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where he spoke openly about living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Helen McAteer, CEO of the Psoriasis Association, said:
“Returning to Manchester for our annual conference is incredibly exciting. It gives us the chance to bring together experts and people with lived experience to explore the challenges, opportunities and solutions that will shape the future of psoriasis care.
“A significant number of the studies we fund are based in Manchester, which has become a world-leading city for psoriasis treatment and research. Holding this year’s conference in the heart of the city gives us a fantastic opportunity to spotlight the groundbreaking work happening here.”
The event’s speaker line-up is packed with leading psoriasis experts working in Greater Manchester, including:
Professor Darren Ashcroft – Foundation Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology, University of Manchester
Dr Elise Kleyn – Honorary Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Senior Lecturer, The University of Manchester and Consultant Dermatologist, Greater Manchester Psoriasis Service.
