New Manchester Event Series ‘POUR HOMME’ Aims to Redefine Men’s Mental Health

Manchester, UK – Isabelle P. Byrne, a published mental health poet and newly appointed Director of Manchester Men’s Health C.I.C, is launching “POUR HOMME” (For Him), a bold new monthly event series aimed at reshaping conversations around men’s mental health.

Taking place on Thursday 30th April from 6–9pm, this debut event marks the beginning of a monthly listening campaign and creative showcase, held on the last Thursday of every month. The initiative invites poets, writers, speakers, and performers to explore the realities men face today through poetry, storytelling, and open dialogue.

At the heart of POUR HOMME is a fresh and necessary perspective: a female-led creative approach to men’s mental health. This work actively creates space to question outdated narratives and dismantle restrictive social expectations. As global tensions rise and traditional ideas around masculinity resurface, this series positions gender equality and cross-gender dialogue as essential to improving and saving lives.

A central focus of POUR HOMME is a strong call-out to female and non-male creatives. Their presence, voices, and artistic contributions are not only welcomed but vital. By engaging with and responding to men’s mental health through their own creative lenses, women and non-male artists play a powerful role in reshaping narratives, fostering empathy, and challenging harmful stereotypes from the outside in. Their support signals solidarity, accountability, and a shared investment in cultural change.

The launch event will feature a charity guest Q&A (6:00–7:00pm), followed by a creative showcase from poets, writers, and speakers (7:00–9:00pm), spotlighting important voices from across the community.
This is an inclusive event open to all, and not limited to male participants. Artists and audiences of every background are invited to attend, contribute, and stand in solidarity.

By centring creativity, community, and honest dialogue, POUR HOMME aims to build a more compassionate and expansive understanding of men’s mental health—one story at a time.

The first event is Thursday 30th April, 6–9pm
