Five dedicated runners took part in the Warrington Running Festival on Sunday 20 September to raise vital funds for Lancashire-based children’s charity Adoption Matters, collectively raising more than £3,400 including Gift Aid.
Despite injury setbacks in the lead up to the event, all five supporters showed remarkable determination and completed their chosen challenges.
Helen had originally planned to run the half marathon but reduced her distance to the 10k due to injury. Similarly, Annie switched from the 10k to the 5k after sustaining an injury. Both were delighted to still be able to take part and cross the finish line.
Meanwhile, Charlotte, Kath and Andy successfully completed the gruelling half marathon, helping to raise awareness and funds for children and families supported by Adoption Matters.
Between Annie, Kath, Helen and Charlotte, an incredible £3,484 has been raised, including £2,787 in donations and £697 in Gift Aid.
Andy's fundraising forms part of his ambitious 100-mile challenge, of which the Warrington Running Festival was one milestone. To date, he has raised £1,063, comprising £850 in donations and £213 in Gift Aid.
Charlotte and Annie, both work for the children’s charity and know first hand that the funds are vitally needed to enhance support to families.

Taking on a running challenge is an amazing achievement in itself, but doing so to raise funds for children and families makes it even more special.
We know how much training, dedication and resilience goes into preparing for these events, especially when injuries threaten to stand in the way. The fact that every runner found a way to take part and support our charity is truly inspiring.
Every pound raised will help us continue to provide support to children and families through our support services.
