Building Bridges: Metal Supermarkets Partners with Local UK Organizations for Millbrook Dam Project

Metal Supermarkets, recognized as the largest global distributor of metals in small quantities, recently partnered with local UK contributors to support the construction of a new bridge at Millbrook Dam, located within Stalybridge Country Park.

Demonstrating their commitment to community initiatives, the Manchester (Trafford Park) branch of Metal Supermarkets generously provided the steel necessary for the bridge’s handrails, contributing to the enhancement of local infrastructure and recreational spaces.

In addition to Metal Supermarkets Manchester (Trafford Park), other project sponsors included Tameside Welding and Fabrication (Bredbury, Stockport) which carried out the fabrication and Widnes Galvanising Ltd. (Cheshire) which provided the galvanising. Together, with assistance from young learners at Works4U, the Millbrook Dam restoration was a success.

“Metal Supermarkets Manchester (Trafford Park) is proud to help our community by donating steel for local non-profit fishing clubs to build a bridge enabling access to the south bank,” said James Headifen, Director, Franchise Development and Operations, Metal Supermarkets Franchising UK Ltd. “As the world’s largest supplier of small-quality metals, Metal Supermarkets takes pride in supporting our communities by delivering signature world class customer service matched with speed, variety and convenience for professionals and hobbyists alike.”

Future plans include resurfacing the entire footpath around the dam in sandstone grit and installing a memorial garden so trees or hedges can be planted in memory of a loved ones.

Each Metal Supermarket location provides solutions to customers’ metal needs in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer categories. With a diverse product base and a no-minimum order quantity, Metal Supermarkets has earned long-lasting relationships with customers as a result of delivering a world-class customer experience.
